Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician

Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment and rack systems. • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately troubleshoot issues. • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to maximize lifespan and efficiency. • Conduct field service operations such as equipment repair, plumbing repairs, welding, and property maintenance tasks. • Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments to identify electrical or mechanical faults. • Install new HVAC systems or components following industry standards and safety protocols. • Maintain detailed service reports, logs, and documentation of all work performed for client records and compliance purposes. Skills • Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC/R environments with strong mechanical knowledge. • Ability to read schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical diagrams accurately. • Skilled in plumbing, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation, and appliance repair. • Familiarity with field service procedures involving equipment repair, maintenance tasks, welding techniques, and property upkeep. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar vehicles preferred. • Knowledge of electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical components. • Experience working with mechanical systems including pumps, fans, ductwork, and HVAC controls.
