Welding Inspector (CWI)

About the Role

IronWorks Fabrication seeks a Certified Welding Inspector to oversee quality on our structural and miscellaneous metal projects. Hybrid role — 3 days on site, 2 days remote for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds per AWS D1.1, D1.5, and project specifications
• Review welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and welder qualifications
• Perform visual and NDE inspections
• Generate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation
• Coordinate with project managers and fabrication leads

Requirements

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• 5+ years of welding inspection experience
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 structural welding code
• NDE Level II certification preferred (UT, MT, PT)
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
