This role serves as the organization’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical infrastructure, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of GVR facilities through code-compliant repairs and system upgrades. Essential Job Functions General Maintenance Duties The Technician III performs all routine and general maintenance functions, including but not limited to: Carpentry, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, appliance repair, lighting, and facility upkeep. Preventive maintenance tasks, work order completion, equipment checks, and use of maintenance software. Operation of power tools, hand tools, lifts, and other maintenance equipment. Setting up and breaking down rooms, assisting with events, and responding to daily facility needs. Advanced Skilled-Trade Duties In addition to the above, Technician III performs higher-level work requiring a trade credential: Code Compliance: "Ensure all work complies with the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and local Arizona building codes." System Diagnostics: "Expertly troubleshoot, repair, and maintain three-phase power systems, motor control circuits, and distribution panels." Specific Hardware: "Maintain and repair interior/exterior lighting systems, including LED retrofits, emergency ballasts, and specialized facility controllers." Safety Standards: "Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with NFPA 70E arc flash safety standards Ancillary Job Functions Serve as a technical subject-matter resource for a designated trade area. Assist in developing preventive maintenance routines for complex systems. Provide after-hours response as needed for issues requiring trade-level skill. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.) High School Diploma or GED Journeyman-level certification in a recognized trade (electrical, HVAC, welding/fabrication, mechanical systems, or similar). Minimum five years of relevant work experience. Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license. Must maintain CPR certification. Demonstrated ability to perform code-compliant work independently. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position. Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting equipment and systems. Ability to train others on the proper use of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, code requirements, and manuals. Skill in welding, fabrication, mechanical repair, or equivalent trade practices. Ability to perform both routine maintenance and advanced technical tasks as needed. Ability to mentor technicians and ensure quality and safe work practices. Proficiency with maintenance software and documentation. Strong initiative and independent problem solving. Ability to speak and understand the English language well. Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends, as needed. Strong initiative, motivation and self-discipline. Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. Must be able to perform outdoors in variable weather conditions. Must be able to perform with standard equipment noise. This role frequently involves skilled-trade work in environments with elevated safety considerations, such as electrical systems, welding, confined spaces, or mechanical troubleshooting.
