Job Title: Ironworker Welder Fitter
Job Description
As an Ironworker Welder Fitter, you will work on diverse projects, including commercial, institutional, and infrastructure developments. The role requires flexibility to work at multiple sites, including out-of-town locations. Your tasks will vary depending on the project stage, such as site mobilization, shaking out steel, erection, bolt-up, and working with miscellaneous metals.
Responsibilities
• Participate in site mobilization and project setup.
• Perform steel erection and bolt-up activities.
• Engage in miscellaneous metals and finishing tasks.
• Ensure flexibility to work at multiple sites and out-of-town projects.
• Attend daily team meetings to discuss health and safety hazards and tasks.
• Complete necessary safety orientations and site-specific orientations.
Essential Skills
• Ironworker with at least a 2nd-year apprentice level or higher.
• Valid EWP and Fall Pro certifications.
• CSTS and WHMIS certifications.
• Experience in bolt-up/connector tasks.
• Commercial, infrastructure, or institutional construction experience.
• Welding experience, particularly SMAW.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 3rd-year apprentice Ironworker up to Journeyman level preferred.
• 5+ years of commercial experience.
• Strong layout and blueprint reading skills.
• Capability to obtain Secret Level 2 clearance for specific projects.
• Flexible to work night shifts if needed and out-of-town assignments.

Work Environment
For in-town work, the schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 44-50 hours per week with overtime after 44 hours. Out-of-town work follows a schedule of 15 days on and 6 days off (or 16 days on and 5 days off) from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Circumstance-based LOA and per diems are provided, with meals at $65/day and room at $85/day, along with potential camp work. A typical day begins with a team meeting to address health and safety hazards and daily tasks. Flexibility to work in varying project phases is essential, and effective communication is required for safety orientation and site-specific tasks.
